Video: HALESTORM's LZZY HALE Joins DISTURBED For U2 Cover In Nashville
May 8, 2016HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale joined DISTURBED on stage on May 7 at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, Tennessee to perform a cover version of the U2 classic "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". Fan-filmed video footage of her appearance can be seen below.
DISTURBED singer David Draiman previously recruited Hale for a remake of "Close My Eyes Forever", which was originally recorded by Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne, for Draiman's DEVICE project. At the time, David called Lzzy "the strongest, most distinctive female voice in rock today." He added: "I think she's just as good as it gets."
DISTURBED is touring in support of its sixth studio album, "Immortalized", which was released last August and debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 chart. That made it DISTURBED's fifth effort in a row to enter the chart at No. 1, a feat shared only with METALLICA and DAVE MATTHEWS BAND.
HALESTORM's first two albums, 2009's "Halestorm" and 2012's "The Strange Case Of…" were both officially certified gold in March by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales of more than 500,000 copies. The certifications came after RIAA started including on-demand audio and video streams and a track sale equivalent in gold and platinum album award.
The band's third effort, "Into The Wild Life", which features "Dear Daughter", debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart, selling 56,000 copies in its first week of release — more than double the first-week haul of their second CD — but has not reached gold yet.
